Gina K.’s new kit, “Ocean Minded” is absolutely stunning! This kit will kick you right into summer. (Unless you live in Wisconsin, then you need to continue being prepared for any of the four seasons.) Rina K. designed the large set in the kit, and it makes the most unique cards. I cannot believe how realistic the waves look stamped.
This kit is the first Gina K. Designs kit to ever come with stencils! We did release other stencils in this June Release, and we showcased those yesterday. These, however, are living in the kit exclusively for a while before we break up the kit.
This is a giant card. Five-by-Seven cards just feel huge to me after making so many A2, but I’ve really been enjoying mixing it up a bit with my cardmaking. I stamped the waves over each other several times in Gina K. Designs turquoise colored inks- Sea Glass, Turquoise Sea, Blue Lagoon, and Tranquil Teal.
I used a Uni-Bal Signo white gel pen to stipple TONS of white dots over the edges of the waves to create a sea foam effect. I LOVE how it turned out, but yikes. It took a lot of time. It was a very peaceful time of my life, hitting that pen to my paper ten million times.
I used the exact same technique on this card, but it took much less time since it’s a much smaller size. I did have a little oops on this card… my mom pointed out that the footprints are hopping! I didn’t want to redo the whole card, so let’s just accept that we have a hopper here.
The Mermaid Scales stencil is absolutely gorgeous! I blended some Gina K. inks with the Picket Fence brushes, and the colors I used are Sea Glass, Innocent Pink, and Passionate Pink. I cannot get over how these colors blend to make completely new colors!
Isn’t this the cutest ‘shine’ die? I love the tiny stamp set (and word die set) included in the kit, “Sunshine”. There are so many fun and unique greetings in that little set. I cut out the word ‘shine’ in Passionate Pink Ink, and heat embossed the ‘You’re Sunsational’ greeting in white on Passionate Pink cardstock.
This stamp set just makes me ready for summer. I had so much fun coloring these summery images. I stamped them in Gina K. Warm Glow Amalgam Ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils.
I used the new Sun Rays stencil, blending with the Picket Fence brushes in Lemon Drop and Sweet Mango. The rays are so perfectly delicate, and I love how the center stays blank with the circle stencil cut out. It created the perfect halo to arrange my images and stamp a greeting.
Aaaaaaand introducing… Hannah’s new set, “Whimsical Wildflower Frame”! It is one of my all-time favorites! It is so useful for so many occasions. I love how the florals look stamped in black even without coloring.
I made six matching black and white cards with different colored card bases and envelopes. As a group, they make the cutest gift! All the different greetings in this set cover many reasons for cardmaking, so as a set of cards they’re perfect.
Here’s another layout with this set. You don’t even have to stamp both frames together! I heat embossed the frame in white and blended with the Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes in Gina K. Ink Lemon Drop and Passionate Pink.
Here is the same stamp, but the floral borders are stamped towards the greeting (I used the “Praying for You” greeting from my brand new “Have Faith” stamp set) instead of away from it. It is so handy that the stamps are not attached, so you can really arrange the florals however you like! I colored them this time with Prismacolor pencils.
I hope you enjoyed the inspiration today with the new Gina K. Designs “Ocean Minded Kit” and Hannah’s “Whimsical Wildflower Frame” stamp set! I definitely enjoyed making these projects for you.
Don’t forget, Gina K. is giving away a $50 gift certificate to a lucky winner who comments on everyone’s blog posts! Know anyone in your life who could use a pick-me-up card?
Head over to Karen’s blog next to keep hopping!
Thanks for stopping by!
